Grund waren stark verfremdete Oralverkehr-Szenen aus Björk privatem Archiv sowie Piercing-Aufnahmen bei denen Björk sich unter anderem selbst ein Piercing setzt und das mit der Handkamera filmt.
Vespertine ist zusammen mit mit Post und Homogenic immer noch mein Lieblingsalbum Björk’s und ‚Pagan Poetry‘ ist bis heute kein Stück gealtert. Schön, das das Gesamtkunstwerk aus Musik und Bild nun wieder frei imNetz gibt verfügbar ist.
The video is described as being about „a woman preparing herself for marriage and for her lover“. It features highly blurry and stylized images of explicit sex from Björk’s personal footage, including fellatio and ejaculation, and images of large needles sewing pearls to skin.[8] The second half of the video features Björk in a dress designed by Alexander McQueen, which covers only the lower portion of her body. The upper portion of the dress consists of pearls piercing her skin, which is shown throughout the first half.[9] The video ends with a shot of a Corset piercing.
