Mike Mills präsentiert seinen 24minütgen Film der in Zusammenhang mit dem, für diesen Freitag angekündigten neuen Album von ‚The National‘ entstanden ist. In der Hauptrolle: Alica Vikander.

Vikander bekannt aus ‚Tomb Raider‘ oder ‚Ex Machina‘ gewann bereits einen Oscar für ‚The Danish Girl‘ und verkörpert im Film das Leben ihrer Protagonisten von der Geburt bis zum Tod, ohne das sich dabei ihre Optik verändert.

Mills hat bereits Musikvideos für Moby, Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, Beck oder die Beastie Boys gedreht.

Über die Zusammenarbeit mit ‚The National‘ sagt er:

The National gave me the stems for their songs, some were sketches some were finished and encouraged and allowed me to create my own versions of the songs to score the film. The album then features different versions of these same seven songs—and nine new songs which sometimes refer to the themes, texts, ideas from the film—but are their own work, their own piece of art.
