Jon Bernthal spricht mit Marc Maron (Podcast)
Tolles Gespräch zwischen dem ‚Punisher‘ Jon Bernthal und WTF Host Marc Maron, dessen Podcast kürzlich in die 1000ste (!) Folge gegangen ist. Bernthal hat logischer Weise noch viel mehr zu erzählen als nur über seine Rolle als Marvel-Rächer und er ist ein extrem sympathischer Typ.

Er hat natürlich noch in ‚The Walking Dead‘ gespielt aber auch in Blockbustern wie ‚Wolf of Wallstreet‘ oder ‚Sicario‘ Jon Bernthal ist einer dieser Schauspieler von dem ich keine Ahnung hatte wie er evtl. privat drauf ist und es viel mir zu Anfang zugegebener Maßen ziemlich schwer ihn von Frank Castle zu trennen, klappt dann aber…
Maron macht wie immer einen guten Job, das einigste was ihm wohl nicht bewusst war, war die Tatsache, dass es nur zwei und nicht drei Staffeln von ‚The Punisher‘ gibt. ;)
Jon Bernthal’s path to becoming an actor was less about following a dream than about getting out of a nightmare. Before he was The Punisher or other streetwise characters in The Wolf of Wall Street and The Walking Dead, Jon was a kid with a nose for trouble and a rebelliousness that pulled toward violence. It was heading in a bad direction but thanks to an acting teacher, a journey to Russia and Chekhov’s The Seagull, Jon turned it around. Marc and Jon also talk about his love of making “pure theater” in New York, how he transitioned into TV and movies without compromising his vision, and what happened when the darkness of his early life came back.
