Outrun OST (Data Discs)
Nachdem ich auch das Repress von Data Discs OST Vinyl Release des Sega-Klassikers Outrun verpasst habe, bin ich nun froh die Platte endlich antiquarisch ergattert zu haben.

Und weil ich ca. ein halbes Jahr frustriert war, seinerzeit die ‚tricolor‘ nicht gekriegt zu haben, viel mir auch zuerst bei ‚mint-grünen‘ Nachpressung nicht auf, wie nice eigentlich das Cover Art ist.
Es handelt sich nämlich nicht nur um einen Traum in Pastell, sondern die Platte hat sogar ein Wechselcover. In das Fenster des Sleeves lassen sich insgesamt drei Outrun Stage-Umgebungen einschieben. Man ist das großartig und ich kann das Teil bald endlich zur Sammlung addieren.
Auf eBay finden sich aktuell noch vereinzelt erschwinglich Kopien, wer hier als genauso angetan ist wie ich, nur zu!
Originally released in 1986, OutRun remains one of the most recognisable arcade games ever made. The music, composed by renowned SEGA Sound Team member Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi, was a triumph of imagination and creativity, showcasing a fusion of styles and influences, all ingeniously and inexplicably condensed into the confines of an eighties arcade board. The music was so integral to the game itself, that it is now difficult to imagine OutRun – or, indeed, the history of arcade music – without the enduring charm of Hiro’s soundtrack.
