Sacret Bones legt eine größere Charge des Kultalbums „Floating into the Night“ der frühen Dreampop Ikone Julie Cruise auf. Die Wiederveröffentlichung des von Angelo Badalamenti und David Lynch produzierten Albums erscheint in vielen schicken Vinylfarben.

Der song Falling war dann hinterher auch die Vorlage für das epische und hinterher weltbekannte Twin Peaks Theme. Cruise könnte auch als musikalische Muse für das Twin Peaks Universum bezeichnet werden, da Lynch und Badalamenti damals so begeistert von ihr waren, dass sie mit „The Voice of Love“ gleich noch ein Album mit ihr zusammen aufnahmen.
Eine willkommene Ankündigung für viele Menschen die sich diese Scheibe endlich ins Regal stellen wollen. Es gibt zwar ein ebenfalls noch erhältliches MOV Release davon aber dieses Album gehört einfach auf Davis Lynch’s Hauslabel Secret Bones oder? :)
Julee Cruise’s 1989 album Floating Into the Night is a hauntingly beautiful, critically ac-claimed work that showcases her unique vocal style and the atmospheric, dreamlike music of composer Angelo Badalamenti. The album was produced by Badalamenti and David Lynch, who had previously worked together on the soundtrack for Lynch’s film Blue Velvet. Today in the wake of both Julee Cruise and Angelo Badalamenti’s passing its important to honor their musical legacy and contribution to both the sonic and cinematic landscapes.
